Nora Voss writes about the psychology of slot machines, player rituals and the beliefs that grow around both. Her approach starts from published work — the illusion of control, the near-miss effect, losses disguised as wins — and from the plain arithmetic of a paytable, because those are the parts a reader can go and check. She writes for this review site and has no connection to any casino operator, which is also why her articles explain how a mechanism works instead of recommending where to play. When a popular claim does not survive the research — astrology, lunar timing, rituals that change the odds — she says so and shows what the evidence actually is.
